4 Rules to Follow for Maintaining Healthy Hair

The road to a head full of healthy hair can be a struggle if you’re not careful. Bleaching, over-heating, and perms will leave your hair damaged and unmanageable. Whether you have fine, curly or straight hair, I’ve listed four rules that will help you keep your healthy locs in tact.

Rule #1

Condition, Condition, Condition

The importance of conditioner can go unnoticed if you’re use to the simple shampoo and condition routine. Shampooing your hair without using a conditioner afterwards will leave your hair dry and brittle. Conditioner works to protect your hair oils.

Rule #2

Use Less Heat

Flat-irons, curling irons, and blow dryers are amazing but can also damage your hair. Over using these tools will leave you with breakage and dead hair. Save the hassle of having to do a big chop by reducing your usage of heat on your hair.

Rule #3

Try Adding Nourishing Oils

Coconut oil on everything has been my motto for the longest. Not only does coconut oil work wonders on your hair, there are also other oils that have the same healthy effects. From argan oil to jojoba oil, your hair will never lose its flawless shine.

Rule #4

Trim

Applying rules one through three will not be successful if you don’t trim your hair often. A simple trim every two week will keep your ends from splitting.
